GEOGRAPHY BEE WINNER

Geography Bee participants

Students from Oakwood Elementary, Paulding Elementary, and Paulding Middle School competed in the district level of the National Geographic Bee Finals on January 12, 2017. Sam Adams will advance to the next level of competition, a written examination. He will move one step closer to a chance at a $50,000 scholarship, and a prize vacation! Sam is a 7th grader from Paulding Middle School, and is the son of Jerry and Joann Adams. The Bee is sponsored by the National Geographic Society. 

Ashton Manz, a 6th grader from Paulding Middle School, was the first runner-up. Ashton is the son of Chris and Erica Manz.  Shown in the photo are Sam and Ashton and the other students who competed in the Bee : Paulding Elementary: Lucas Beckman, Grade 4; Maci Kauser, Grade 5; Oakwood Elementary: Jack Woods, Grade 4, Elli Barton, Grade 5, Casandra Weller, Grade 6;  Paulding Middle School: Trace McKinley, Grade 8.
