The Paulding Athletic Department and Athletic Boosters will be inducting two new members into Paulding Athletic Hall of Fame prior to the Paulding vs. Wayne Trace Football Game at approximately 6:10 PM on August 25, 2017. The Hall of Fame Committee has selected 1962 graduate Steve Penn and the 1983 Varsity Football Team. Below you will find a bio for each of our new inductees. Steve Penn graduated from Paulding High School in 1962. He earned 12 varsity letters while at Paulding, including 4 each in football and basketball, 3 in track, and 1 in baseball.
In football, Steve started at quarterback all 4 years in high school. He was All-League during his sophomore, junior, and senior years. During his sophomore season. he passed for 1,356 yeards and 15 touchdowns. Steve earned the honor of Most Valuable Players during the 1961 season.
In track, Steve lettered in his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. During his senior season, Steve ran in the 880 relay at the State Championships at OSU in Columbus.
After high school, Steve went on to the Case Institute of Technology (now named Case Western Reserve University) and played football. He earned a varsity letter during his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. Steve earned the Les Bale Award in 1965, which was given to the Most Valuable Player. Steve graduated with a B.S.in Engineering with a Computer Technology Major.
After graduating college, Steve went on to have success in many positions, including working at Lockheed and Lockheed Martin from 1991-2009. While at Lockheed and Lockheed Martin, he managed systems and software development projects. Steve retired in 2009.
Steve currently resides in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania and is retired.
1983 Paulding Football Team
The 1983 Football Team finished the season with a 10-0 record, the second perfect season in five years for Paulding. This team won the first Northwest Conference Championship since 1978. The 10 wins tied a school record for wins in a season with the 1978 team.

Ranked 1st in Offense and 2nd in Defense in the Northwest Conference
Ranked 6th in Offense and 7th in Defense in the Lima Area News out of 41 teams
Ranked 2nd in Offense and 4th in Defense in the Crescent News out of 26 teams.
Only undefeated team in the Defiance Six County Area
Continued winning streaks of 11 straight games Northwest Conference games and 14 straight games overall. Winners of 10 straight away games
The margin of victory was 17 points per game
The team completed a seven year run where Paulding was either the Northwest Conference champion or runner-up five of those years and had a record of 51-19
Seven Panthers received 1st Team Northwest Conference honors while three others earned 2nd Team honors, and five players earned Honorable Mention
