Paulding High School
Today during PPL our staff members did the following:
* looked at new data that included gifted testing results, 3rd Grade Fall Reading OST data, and STAR winter benchmark data
* collaborated to identify TBT goals
* co-planned for upcoming lessons
* constructed unit maps
* had EVAAS (value-added data) training
* met with various administrators and departments
Even though it was foggy on Wednesday morning, our teachers met as TBTs to continue to work towards improving student achievement and overall school culture. Those teachers who are on the DLT shared information from the DLT meeting on Monday, they continued to collaborate to identify solutions to issues and they were able to co-plan for upcoming units and lessons.
This week in PPL, Paulding Middle School and High School teachers met as subject level teams to continue to discuss vertical alignment between the buildings as well as going over data received so far for the 2025 school year. After the grade level meetings, they met with the Teacher Based Teams as well as Subject Level Teams to look at student data.
We had a bonus PPL day in October, with this being the 5th Wednesday of the month. The teaching staff worked in their Teacher Based Teams while effective teams expert Rodney Harrelson circulated to see how the discussions were going. They used the rest of the PPL time to focus on building-specific items. The paraprofessionals continued their Conscious Discipline professional development.
This week in Panther Professional Learning our teaching staff had a professional development session on the importance of using specific feedback when communicating with students. Our paraprofessionals continued their Conscious Discipline book study. Later, the intervention specialist met together while the rest of the teaching staff met in their Teacher Based Teams to recap the 1st quarter of the school year while co-planning lessons to begin the 2nd quarter.
